About GIOVANNA

Giovanna Belloni’s work in jewellery reflects how she feels about herself and the world around her - ever changing. Gia seeks to embrace the spirit of design and brings a rich and multifaceted perspective to jewellery-making that is unbounded by tradition and commercial pressure.

Her inspiration is drawn from many sources, such as ancient cultures, marine biology, organic textures and symbolism.

Throughout human history people have adorned themselves in all manner of ways using symbolism, meaning, beauty and status in their selection and configuration of wearable art. It is these things that interest Gia and her ongoing investigations into design.

Gia explores new avenues of inspiration constantly and has a fascination with ancient languages and meanings that she wishes to pursue. She is a free spirited person and this affects the feelings of her work. Her approach is unconventional and often incorporates materials that are eclectic and sometimes unique, such as 22kt and 24kt gold, fine silver, resins and polymers, mixed media, precious and semi precious stones and pearls and fine art glass. Gia also uses materials and personal treasures that she has found in her travels making such pieces unique and sometimes un-repeatable.

Gia’s designs have captured the attention of industry watchers as a new and exciting designer to look out for and her work is featured on the cover of the highly respected industry magazine, Jewellery Focus, in the April 2007 issue.
Gia can work in close collaboration with clients at her own discretion.
Work will be added to this website as her collection grows and new designs are released.

A men’s range is being developed together with an eclectic and symbolic collection and this will, in time, be added to this site. It is hoped that the work you see gives you an idea of the design and influence of Gia’s work now and in the future.
